About the Author

Lucinda Geritz is a retired computer programmer living in Manchester, TN with her terrific husband and two rambunctious kittens. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a double major in English and Computer Science, and she is still a big fan of the school’s football and basketball teams.

Lucinda has a collection of etiquette books, ranging in dates from the 1800s to present day, which inspired her to write a cozy mystery novel with an etiquette teacher as the sleuth. She also collects animation art from Disney and Warner Brothers. When she is not writing, she enjoys travel, reading, and working crossword puzzles, and she has recently become addicted to Wordle.

Lucinda spent years writing software at a large computer company and published several user manuals for the various projects she worked on. But she has always wanted to write fiction, and retirement gave her a chance to do so. Her debut novel, Manners or Mayhem (formerly titled The Chess Player), won the Claymore Award for Best Cozy Mystery in the 2023 Killer Nashville contest. It was also awarded second runner up for Best Unpublished Manuscript among the hundreds of entries in all categories. Lucinda has also been a finalist in the Malice Domestic Best First Traditional Mystery Competition.
